Backing/starting your young horse

We offer young horse handling such as backing. Will has a wealth of experience in this area. He has started horses both for private and commercial customers, many of which can be seen competing successfully.

We are very proud of our long list of satisfied clients. We strongly believe that this is a very important stage in a horse’s education which is sadly all too often overlooked. This is your horse’s very first experience of being ridden so it needs to be a good one. Will works with the horses almost entirely on a one to one basis, so that they learn to move off one person, which is invaluable in later training and sport.

Training and Coaching

Will is a UKCC level 2 coach, he has a wealth of experience helping people with their riding and with the training of their horses. He is very passionate about improving everyone’s riding no matter the level.

Some people prefer to be based with us. Training livery usually includes two sessions training per week and friendly support the rest of the time.

Young horse production

Horses in our care are treated like one of our own, with great attention to detail. We use only the best vets and farrier.

Will places a lot of emphasis on producing horses in their own time; it is important to ensure their bodies are developed enough to cope with what is being asked of them, to aid a long and sound career.

Will has competed at many shows nationally and internationally such as Hickstead, British Young Horse Show, Horse of the Year Show, Welsh Masters, Sunshine Tour and many county shows.
