William and Laura Plunkett have run WP Sporthorses together from its inception in 2002 and are now joined by their 3 young children Harry, Megan and Charlie. We love what we do and it shows. 

Will has over 27 years professional experience in successfully backing, producing and competing showjumpers to top level competition. 

Will developed a passion for horses from an early age, competing at Horse of the Year Show at 18. He spent time working for and training with international showjumpers and trainers, here in the UK and also in America and Holland. He gained a wealth of experience in many aspects of horsemanship.

Laura (BSc (Hons) Equine Studies) has many years of experience working with horses and supports Will on the yard at home as well at shows. She is currently enjoying getting back in the saddle and is also finding herself increasingly occupied as  groom to 3 ponies.

Harry, Megan and Charlie enjoy riding their ponies together and are also keen pony club members. 

Setting Will apart is his ability to see a horse individually and tailor its training programme accordingly. His sheer determination to see a challenge through enables him to help horses to reach their optimum performance. 

Will has a real aptitude for training (both riders and horses) and believes that anyone and everyone can and should ride well. His straightforward approach and system, which he developed whilst training with world renowned Dutch Olympic Silver medallist Albert Voorn, enable this. We welcome riders and horses of all level, age and ability.

Renowned for his integrity and honest evaluations, he is highly competitive and is always pleased to take on talented horses to join his string.
